Recently, I heard a report concerning carbon emissions that confirmed an idea I had, which is that compared to jet airplanes, international shipping upon the oceans creates more carbon [emissions]. Obviously, this also means that the shipping of raw materials and goods internationally uses up a lot of petroleum. I heard this report on The Thom Hartman Program, Air America Radio Network.
Secondly, I moved into a rural area of northwest Buncombe County in 1999. I work in the city, and always noticed that the temperature was at least 10 degrees cooler when I got home. But not this year, as it is as hot or hotter [at home] than it is in town. Somethin’ happening, do ya think?
