Thank you, Asheville Downtown Association, for 25 years of harassment dancing at Downtown After 5. Back then you wanted only pretty young women in front of the bands dancing. Now you call me a security risk dancing on the pavement on the side: the law-enforcement guys I work with will find that humorous.
The band’s [crew member] had no problem with me. He apologized for needing space. I thanked him for doing his job. For you to call it a problem and to claim that it is “backstage” when dozens of people walked by that spot while I danced for 40 minutes, is an example of your lies.
The previous time I saw Big Sam’s Funky Nation it was at LEAF. I was within touching distance of the band, and there was only a great time. At Bele Chere I’ve never had problems from event organizers in 27 years. What does that say about you, Asheville Downtown Association?
Asheville Downtown Association, when are you going to get the clue that it’s been us freaks more than your businesses that have attracted the tourists to Asheville?
