I am writing in response to Jerry Sternberg’s opinion regarding racism with a capital R [“Parsing the R-word: The Gospel According to Jerry,” March 27, Xpress]. He stated that Lynne Patton, an African American female, was used as a pawn by Rep. Mark Meadows. How despicable to think that a grown woman cannot make her own statement about her interpretation and experience regarding working with President Trump.
Mr. Sternberg says he is a recovering racist. He has not recovered, and he is also a sexist. The audacity of comparing her to a slave on the auction block makes me sick to my stomach.
I am surprised this man is allowed to write in your paper.

Amen, Maria.
As the Liberal March toward putting every behavior and policy statement in terms of Identity Politics, they are inevitably tripping over themselves with, – perhaps inadvertent, – racist, offensive comments and comparisons.
Not to mention thoughtless and intended to distract from their own biases and inability to articulate a reasonable, rational argument.
Nope…just watching with pain and frustration the consistently with which you people continue to deflect your own atrocious behavior that mimics more every day that of the fraudulent and petulant toddler in the white house.
He’s assuaging his own guilt. Problem is for many of these old fool liberals, they don’t live in the present. They’re ignorant of the harm they’re doing and the divisiveness they’re creating.
and again…typical deflection of the sick values and morals of those who have seized power and are holding Americans hostage while they cater to the wealthy and the whacked.
…and most probably a democrat …
