The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Buncombe, Haywood, and Madison counties starting tomorrow morning. The notice cautions residents about the possibility of a “significant winter storm” tomorrow.
The NWS predicts a “quick transition to snow” as a low pressure front from Georgia moves through South Carolina and into WNC. It warns that heavy accumulation — three to six inches — may occur, and expects rain to turn into snow by Thursday afternoon, creating potentially hazardous driving conditions and the possibility of power outages.
