On April 24, Our VOICE hosted “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes,” an event in which hundreds of men put on high-heeled shoes and walked through downtown Asheville with the goal of raising awareness about sexual assault.
Those participating in the symbolic gesture to walk in solidarity with women included Asheville City Council members Cecil Bothwell and Gordon Smith, Buncombe County Board of Commissioners Chair David Gantt, and Asheville Police Chief Bill Hogan.
