REAL Cooperative, a local group focused on environmental action and cultural/environmental regenerative projects, will host the Share Asheville Map Jam: Creating a Sharing & Caring Community on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 40 Congress St.
The event will consist of a community discussion and potluck dinner, as well as the creation of a map that displays all of the sharing initiatives and organizations that currently exist in Asheville. Community gardens, bikesharing stations and the new Asheville Tool Library, are a few examples that REAL Cooperative cites as ways people are already sharing resources in the city.
The event will take place in conjunction with peers.org potlucks and Shareable.net, as a part of the latter nonprofit’s new Sharing Cities Network project. Similar events are being hosted throughout the month of October in cities across the US and internationally.
