The Associated Press reports today that Ruth Graham, wife of evangelist Billy Graham, fell into a coma on Wednesday morning and “appears to be entering the final stages of life,” according to Larry Ross, Graham’s personal spokesman.
Graham, who is 87, suffers from a degenerative form of osteoarthritis. She was treated two weeks ago for pneumonia and improved somewhat before this recent downturn. Ross said she is being treated at the Graham’s home in Montreat.
