Esme Vos, the founder of MuniWireless.com, a popular online review of the latest developments in wireless-Internet technology, touts a new Asheville-based initiative in a recent post.
In her post, Vos notes that the Mountain Area Information Network recently received City Council’s endorsement for its plan to make Asheville a “Wi-Fi City.” See the Xpress article “MAIN Plans to Cover City with Wireless Web Access” for details on the plan.
Vos, who blogs from Amsterdam, Netherlands, also had some nice things to say about Asheville itself:
“Asheville is a beautiful small city in North Carolina that has an artistic, foodie and eco-friendly community. Art galleries, organic stores, vegetarian restaurants and boutiques make it one of the most wonderful places to visit in the U.S. The best vegetarian food I have ever eaten was in Asheville. In addition to residents, there are a lot of tourists and second-home owners who depend upon a good communications network.”
