Asheville City Council’s Public Safety Committee will consider (and possibly modify) a proposed ban on camping on city property developed in response to Occupy Asheville‘s encampment in front of City Hall. Follow live Twitter coverage here.
The rules were originally on Council’s agenda for the Dec. 13 meeting, but after some Council members raised concerns about the amount of consideration that had gone into the ordinances, they voted 5-2 to send it to the committee for further deliberation.
The Public Safety Committee is composed of Council member Cecil Bothwell (as chair), Jan Davis and Gordon Smith. The meeting begins at 3:30 p.m. in the training room on the fourth floor of the municipal building.

“Council mem @cecilbothwell rapping on table to begin mtg. “I don’t have a gavel.” #avlgov”
Hilarious
Bob Oast, responding with “I’m not sure,” “I don’t know,” etc., presenting his “information” for the committee… even more hilarious. Only, he was completely serious, and seriously incomplete with his presentation.
