The Super Hero 5K race is flying into Asheville and Asheville Brewing Company wants you to don your red cape, flash shoes, power tights, and magic bracelets and join the fun on Saturday, Nov. 10. The event is a fundraiser for Asheville Fire and Rescue and the Asheville Police Department, and prizes for the best superhero costume will be awarded. Talk about a fun run.
Runners will toe the line at 5 p.m. at the Asheville Brewing Co. location at 77 Coxe Ave. The course will take race participants through downtown Asheville and the historic Montford area. Attendees 21 and over will receive coupons for beer to use after the race, and there will be a pizza buffet as well. Organizer Leigh Rangel boasts that “We put on the best races in town!”

Registration fees are $25 mail-in, $23 online, $30 packet pick-up day and $35 on the day of the race. Packet pick-up will be held at 77 Coxe Aven.on Friday, Nov. 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. Those who can’t pick up their packets until race day are asked to stop by between 3 and 4:30 pm. Registration and pick-up will end promptly at 4:30.
