Update: With rain expected today, the National Weather Service has issued yet another flash flood warning for our area today. Flash floods yesterday flooded parts of north Asheville, including the Beaverdam Fire Department, where in a matter of minutes, three feet of water filled the basement, according to WLOS reports.
PREVIOUSLY: The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning until 11 p.m. tonight as thunderstorms dump additional rain on the already soaked core of Asheville.
The NWS predicted about 1 to 3 inches of rain. Just before 9 p.m., social media already had reports of serious flooding near Merrimon Avenue and the River District.
