On Saturday, April 10, a large group of talented bakers, both professional and amateur, gathered together for a cupcake bakeoff, Cupcakes for Cures. The event, held at the Grove Park Inn, raised over $6,000 for the American Cancer Society and was fun for all — even the judges (including Xpress’ own Mackensy Lunsford) who were required to taste nearly 60 delicious but extremely filling cupcakes. Here’s a fantastic behind-the-scenes video that features the folks at the French Broad Chocolate Lounge preparing for battle, as well as some great footage of the actual event at the GPI.
