Asheville City Council on Tuesday will vote on the city’s annual budget, in time for the new fiscal year. The $129.9 million budget has been kicked around for the past couple of months, with special criticism from Council member Carl Mumpower, who criticized his colleagues for not including more money for drug crackdowns. Details on the proposed budget can be found here.
Council will also continue the long process of revamping the Unified Development Ordinance, considering changes to the open spaces and retaining-wall policies.
The meeting’s complete agenda is available here.
Thought the issue is not on the agenda, whispers in the community hint that there may be some outcry during the meeting’s public-comment session in response to the 4-3 vote last week that restored partisan designation for the city’s municipal elections.
