The city of Asheville’s upcoming July 4th celebration could have a distinctly corporate feel to it.
In fact, local supermarket chain Ingles gets naming rights to this year’s event, called the Ingles 4th of July Celebration. Other corporate sponsors of the city event include Budweiser, Pepsi and Clear Channel Radio.
The festivities start at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 4, at Pack Square and along College Street downtown. The Sons of the American Revolution will return again this year to offer a patriotic tribute, and the fun will continue throughout the night with music and games, capped off by a grand-finale fireworks display at 10 p.m.
The day will also feature live music from several local bands along with a range of family activities, from free craft projects and old-fashioned family games to inflatable rides and a variety of food from area vendors.
For more information about the event, contact Asheville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts at 259-5800 or visit their Web site.
