Since we are still in a statewide burn ban, torching your Christmas tree in the yard is out of the question this year. Why not recycle it instead?
Asheville residents can leave their trees at the curb for pickup, or the city will accept them between Dec. 26 and Jan. 25 at the Buncombe County Landfill and at Memorial Stadium.
The trees will be fed into chippers, and residents can pick up the chips at Memorial Stadium after Dec. 28.
And since ornaments don’t shred well, please remember to un-decorate your tree before sending it to the chipper.
