Leading the agenda at today’s meeting of the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners is a resolution approving $4.9 million worth of bonds, the proceeds of which would be loaned to Altamont Investments for the purpose of developing and producing mobile satellite antenna systems in Buncombe County.
This follows last month’s allocation of $5.9 million in federal stimulus funds towards the project.
The board also plans to pass a resolution allocating federal stimulus money towards the purchase of 12 CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) alternative fuel vehicles for Mountain Mobility.
The commissioners will also consider several rezoning requests that were bumped from their last meeting on March 16. Applicants for rezoning include the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, BB&T and the Presbyterian Home for Children.
The board will meet at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 6, in the commissioner’s chambers, located at 30 Valley St. A short pre-meeting review of the agenda will begin at 4:15 p.m.
