It’s closing time for the current Buncombe County Board of Commissioners, as tomorrow will be the last meeting for Chairman Nathan Ramsey and Commissioner David Young. Items on the agenda include a rezoning, a possible $500,000 incentive to a local manufacturer and the results of the latest financial audit.
The board will take up a request by Lucius Morgan and Goodson Holdings to rezone several properties along Smokey Park Highway from residential to commercial.
The commissioners will also consider whether to give a $500,000 incentive to Southeastern Container, which is undertaking an expansion and adding jobs.
They’ll also hear a number of reports: on auditing of the county’s finances; a possible health plan for the indigent; and alternatives for the Interstate 26 Connector project.
The meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, in room 204 of the Buncombe County Courthouse. A pre-meeting, including public comment, begins at 4 p.m.
