The Buncombe County Board of Commissioners cancelled its Oct. 2 for lack of a quorum. It reconvenes this afternoon (Tuesday, Oct. 16) to cover the same ground.
The board will hear a series of rezoning requests — along with the Buncombe County Planning Board’s recommendation on each one — as well as a few ordinances that aim to amend the County Code of Ordinances.
It will consider an economic development incentive for the Riverside Drive business Silver-Line Plastics, Inc., at a cost of $20,000, as well as the adoption of a comprehensive transportation plan put forward by the French Broad River Metropolitan Planning Organization.
Under new business, the commissioners will lend their ears to a resolution that would dedicate property-tax revenue from the proposed — and hot-button — Ellington development in Asheville to a fund for affordable housing.
