OK, you win. We at Blog Log usually like to keep the conversation turned toward local matters, but some high-profile national news has dominated the local blog world this week.
No, we’re not talking about hurricanes, though A Sort of Notebook had some ruminations on storm damage from Gustav, and Running Gags had some guests in the form of evacuees.
What we’re talking about here is the Republican National Convention. Or rather, it’s what you’re talking about. It seems many of you turned your backs to the TV just long enough to give us some reaction to the political circus in St. Paul.
Of course, this is to be expected at Scrutiny Hooligans, where Rudy Giuliani’s speech was less than well received. And it wasn’t a stretch for Appalachian Scribe, who gushed over Sarah Palin’s address.
Speaking of Palin, Pancho’s Via broke the speech down into its thematic elements. And for those having trouble translating, Hooligans followed up with this post.
Petulant Rumblings chose to present McCain’s speech in toto, while View for (Ab)Normal Heights just gave us the word cloud.
Meanwhile, Nantahala appears to have had it with politicians of any party.
And hey, speaking of parties, the date for that face-time mash-up of revelry known as Extravablogiversapaloozathon (take that, spell check!) has been announced. BlogAsheville’s got the lowdown.
