The French Broad River Garden Club will hold its 2008 spring plant sale tomorrow, Saturday, April 26, at the club’s 1000 Hendersonville Road location in south Asheville.
Taking as its theme the “Noteworthy Native Azalea,” the plant bazaar will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and feature a number of local vendors, as well as a variety of azaleas native to our greater region, some recommended for their fragrance, some for their color (18th century botanist William Bartram called our flame azalea “the most gay and brilliant flowering shrub yet known”) and all for their hardiness in our climate.
