In 2009, Asheville City Council is hoping to spend a little less time in council chambers. As part of its consent agenda, Council will decide whether or not to cut its monthly meetings from three to two, eliminating the work session held on the third Tuesday of each month.
The idea, floated by Mayor Terry Bellamy at Council’s retreat last weekend, seemed to have plenty of support from other Council members.
Also on the agenda of the formal session is a plan for the restoration of the W.C. Reid Community Center and the annual report on the state of the Asheville Regional Airport.
Council meets at 5 p.m. on the second floor of City Hall. For the complete agenda, go here.
