At its meeting tonight, City Council will take up a host of issues, most notably annexation.
The city has identified three areas for inclusion into city limits: the Biltmore Lake area, the Sardis Road area and the Schenck Gateway area. Residents in those areas have already had a chance to receive information from various city departments about the implications of the proposed annexations. Tonight they’ll get a chance to let Council know how they feel about the possibility of becoming city residents.
Also at the meeting, Council will consider, among other things, an ordinance adopting 2007/2008 amendments to the city’s fees and charges; a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with the Asheville Design Center in the amount not to exceed $70,000 to perform further engineering analysis of Alternate B for the proposed I-26 bridge; and, a report from Police Chief William Hogan regarding the city’s ability to address illegal immigration.
