What: Grab your bicycle and join the Western North Carolina Alliance for a mountain-biking trek through the 15-mile Jack Rabbit Trail System in the Nantahala National Forest. The trip will be guided, so there’s no need for a map and compass (although proper outdoor gear is always encouraged). If you don’t have a bike, or your bike is in the shop, you can still hop through the woods with both novice and expert riders. Call in advance to reserve a bicycle or bring your own.
When: Saturday, Nov. 12, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Where: Jack Rabbit Trail System in the Nantahala National Forest, Hayesville. Contact WNCA for exact location
Cost: $10 for members/$20 non-members. Bike rental $40
Info: joy@wnca.org or 258-8737
