On Nov. 15, Asheville Fire and Rescue’s women’s relay team placed second in the Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge world finals in Las Vegas. The event, which runs participants through a series of firefighter scenarios, wraps an eight-month competition; the Asheville men’s team made it to the semifinals. The competition will air on the Versus network in January, including the final women’s relay in which the Asheville team brings home the silver medal.
