Earlier this month, Buncombe County officials came together to celebrate the opening of a major new courthouse building in downtown Asheville. Coming at a cost of almost $30 million, the 118,000-square-foot LEED certified building includes several new courtrooms, jury facilities and offices. District Attorney Ron Moore and other officials had long pushed for the new courthouse, the first such facility built in the county in the last 85 years.
