“This music video takes us back to April 1st, 1965 when my father was just five years old,” says 5th generation Ashevillean Kendra Warren. The singer-songwriter wrote her song, “Spivy Mountain Jam,” about one of her dad’s boyhood misadventures. “Being the hoodlum that he is, he caused quite a commotion after attempting to smoke his fathers cigarettes [and] burned down 16 acres of Asheville’s Spivey Mountain.” Luckily, Warren’s father survived the blaze and is credited as a co-writer on the song.
Video by Wonderland Woods Productions, song recorded at Little Laurel Studios. Warren’s latest EP, Train of Life, is available on iTunes.
