In case you’re wondering who the heck The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger (aka The GOASTT) is, the group is an indie-psyche-rock outfit fronted by Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl. “It is, in itself, a chimera; a fabulous creature made with parts of two distinctly different creatures,” says one particularly fabled bio (read the full text here). The GOASTT was also the opening act for Beck at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium last summer.
Seems that while the band was in town, they visited Moog Music and made this video for Moog Sound Lab. “The band traded in their guitars and acoustic instruments for an array of analog synthesizers,” says a press release. “Sean Lennon commands a Sub 37 while Charlotte Kemp Muhl carries the bass on a Sub Phatty. Both singers’ voices are affected with a pair of Moog 500 Series Analog Delays. Tim Kuhl drives the rhythm section via electronic drum triggers controlling 6x Minimoog Voyager RMEs. Robbie Mangano performs with an Electric Blue Minimoog Voyager and Jared Samuel rounds out the track on a second Sub 37.”
