The Shiloh community celebrated its annual community garden potluck and summer gathering on Saturday, July 27. This year’s gathering was of particular significance to the community, as it marked the dedication of the garden’s new amphitheatre and outdoor kitchen.
As Xpress reported in June, the garden’s amphitheater, fire pit, handmade wood-fired brick pizza oven and an industrial outdoor grill came about with the help of community partners including Tupelo Honey Cafe, Beau Welling Design and G.E.M. Construction Associates.
The celebration included a dedication of the amphitheater to Lawrence Wilson, a member of the Shiloh Community Association who died in March of this year. The outdoor space will continue to host community events, including a neighborhood history day in early September.
