Few local bands have taken the notion of combining electric and acoustic instruments to the extent that AMBY has. It wouldn’t be unusual to see an Ableton on stage along with an acoustic guitar or a cello or a synthesizer.
The group is the brainchild of Abrianna Brown, a classically trained vocalist who recently interned at Echo Mountain Recording. She’s since departed the area for Colorado, but left a mark in her short time in Ashveille.
Before packing up, she and the band gave an exclusive performance of three tunes at The Grey Eagle. The songs are likely to be featured on her full-length debut record, Dysthymia, which will be out later this year.
