Climb every mountain: Charley, Jane and Norm – the nice folks at Jus’ Running in Asheville – are in the first stages of putting together a book of runs in and around the city.
They hope to include runs of varying locations, terrains and distances, from the 1.3 mile loop around Carrier Park to full-commitment ultra-runs in places like Bent Creek or DuPont State Forest.
This, naturally, is where you come in: If you have a route you’d like to contribute to the book, either e-mail the Jus’ Running crew with the details or visit www.mapmyrun.com and map the route out yourself. If you choose the latter, once you’re done, click “share with a friend by e-mail” and send the goods to them at Jusrun@bellsouth.net.
Ideally, your route description will include directions to the start of the run, information about parking and a description of any pertinent features (climbs/descents, surfaces, traffic).
If you need more information, call the store at 252-7867.
Spam it’s not: Asheville Outdoor Adventure News is a recently launched e-mail newsletter that aims to inform and connect the outdoor-sports community around the city and beyond.
Past features have included roundups of local competitions, sports-medicine columns and announcements of upcoming, can’t-miss events around the region. If you want to get with the program, e-mail AOAN editor Jonathan Poston at ashevilleoutdooradventure@gmail.com. Put “include me” in the subject line.
