On May 2, MANNA FoodBank welcomed Hannah Randall as its new CEO. Randall joins the organization after having served in a variety of roles with other nonprofits, including the Animal Protection Society of Person County, Carolina Cross Connection and the Lincoln County United Way.
“Her commitment to the wellbeing of the greater community is obvious in everything she does, both in her personal and professional life,” notes Jim Mathews, president of MANNA’s board of directors, in a press release. A highlight of Randall’s leadership experience, Mathews says, was working her way “from operations and engineering positions to become the youngest plant manager at Duke Energy” early in her career.
“I am looking forward to doing what the board of directors chose me to do, and build on the strong foundation set by the organization’s past leadership,” Randall says in the release, adding “I have met so many people that are dedicated to our mission. It is incredibly humbling, and illustrates one of the characteristics that our community shares: a strong dedication to ending hunger here in the mountains.”
Randall replaces former MANNA executive director Cindy Threlkeld who recently retired after heading up the organization for five years. Under Threlkeld’s leadership, MANNA completed a major capital campaign and multiphase expansion project, Space to Erase Hunger, which dramatically increased its capacity and ability to store and distribute fresh food.
