The Black Mountain Library and Rainbow Recycling are joining up to ask the question that looms over so many Friday evenings: “What will we eat?” The jointly sponsored series on sustainability begins Friday, Sept. 21, with a 7 p.m. screening of The Future of Food at the library, which is at 105 North Dougherty St. “What Will We Eat?” continues throughout the year with films and lectures; call 669-2652 for details.
There won’t be any more waiting for the bus at the corner of Biltmore and Aston avenues in Asheville: The coffee shop housed in the double-decker parked there has finally re-opened under the ownership of Nicole Mitzel and Ryan Cox. The Double Decker Coffee Co. is open everyday and features coffee drinks, smoothies and Lucia’s Italian gelato.
Rave all you want about the 100 wines and beers being served at a Thursday, Sept. 20, benefit for the Asheville Art Museum, but keep your bids to yourself: A silent auction is the centerpiece of A Taste of Wine and Art at Pack Place.
