You know it, we know it: Mountain Xpress has got the flavor. Blue Ridge Flavors, to be precise. Every summer, we cook up this special, stand-alone publication to feed readers with all the latest morsels on food and fun in Western North Carolina. The latest addition has more than 50 pages of restaurant listings, indoor and outdoor entertainments, and this year we’ve added a special feature: a series of “day trips” around our region that are sure to satisfy your appetite for all the mountains have to offer. Look for Blue Ridge Flavors at selected Xpress racks all over your town.
Vincenzo’s executive chef, Jim Guiffre, recently returned to Asheville after a lengthy trip to Rome, Italy. Dwight Butner, the restaurant’s owner, sends the chef on yearly trips to destinations in Northern Italy to experience the authentic regional cuisine (lucky stiff). Back in the kitchen at Vincenzo’s, Guiffre demonstrates what he learns abroad by unveiling a new menu; the newest menu made its debut on June 15. For reservations or more information about the downtown Asheville eatery, call 254-4698 or visit www.vincenzos.com.
