Cúrate is just one stitch in the fabric of our local food scene. WNC is a rich tapestry of farms, specialty and open-air markets, talented chefs and other food service professionals, restaurants — and even gourmet food trucks.
Every year, Xpress pays homage to our food community with our Asheville-area Eats and Drinks guide, a comprehensive package of gourmand-worthy information that includes independent restaurants listings as well as insider tips on where to find a great burger or where to sip a cocktail while playing pétanque.
This year's guide includes answers to tourist's frequently asked questions (like where to eat mountain trout) and where to get your most entertaining eats on (tot-chos and Tetris, anyone?). We'll also take you on a culinary trip around the world — without leaving Asheville. This year, we expanded our scope a bit, inviting Carolina Epicurean blogger Laura Huff to dish about all of the fine places to eat in Hendersonville.
Eats and Drinks also boasts a fresh look, including a beautifully designed cover featuring a photo of a "kitchen sink" Bloody Mary, created for us by The Market Place restaurant. We feel that the new design of our Eats and Drinks guide reflects the sensibilities of our dining scene — fun, yet sophisticated, hands-down delicious and as artful in presentation as you would expect for a city like Asheville.
We hope that you enjoy it. Cheers and bon appetite!
