Veg-In-Out has been rechristened. The vegan meal delivery service now goes by Eden-Out.
Founder and chef William Najger sold Veg-In-Out in 2010. But in December, he returned to Asheville and purchased the business anew with business partner Jennifer Woodruff, who owns Build It Naturally on Biltmore Avenue.
Eden-Out delivers vegan meals (no animal products) with an emphasis on raw foods (not heated above 115 degrees) and green business practices. Woodruff says the leap from managing a green building store to a food business hasn’t been a stretch. “I’ve always wanted to serve the community and help make people’s choices greener,” she says. “I’ve been vegetarian most of my life.”
The deliveries come twice per week in sets of five. Each of the 10 included dishes contains about three servings. The whole package costs $95 (plus tax), and there’s an add-on option for raw desserts.
Raw Pad Thai has proven one of the most popular menu items. The dish features kelp and spiraled zucchini and daikon radishes instead of noodles.
In addition to the meals, Eden-Out delivers a selection of grocery items, such as condiments, nutritional supplements and snacks. “Somebody could potentially not even need to go to the grocery store,” Woodruff says.
