Even meat eaters can demonstrate their love for animals at the table next week when the Animal Compassion Network hosts its fifth annual Dine to Be Kind event benefiting spaying and neutering programs in Western North Carolina. More than three dozen local restaurants have agreed to contribute a portion of their Tuesday, Feb. 26, sales to the nonprofit, which offers financial assistance to any pet owner wishing to spay or neuter their dog or cat.
