For those many, many wine drinkers who couldn’t respond with a confident “si,” Asheville Wine Consulting is offering a class in Italian Wines. “Italian Wine Demystified” is scheduled for the evening of Jan. 17 at Hops & Vines, 797 Haywood Road. The two-hour course is $50 per person, or $95 per couple. For tickets, call 273-1889 or e-mail jessica@ashevillewineconsulting.com.
Here’s hoping Pomodoros Greek and Italian Cafe‘s newest location has plenty of well-trained servers on hand: The recently opened South Asheville restaurant has seats for 166 diners indoors and another 32 spots on the patio. The new restaurant offers the same Mediterranean-influenced menus as the original restaurant in East Asheville, and will be open every day for lunch and dinner. For reservations, call 687-3884.
