Burial Beer Co. has only hosted a couple of large events at their tiny taproom, but so far they have all been big draws. Jess Reiser, part-owner of Burial, just sent out word that Burial will introduce a new annual festival called Burn Pile at the taproom 2-10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1.
The fest will be fall-themed, and more than 20 breweries have been invited to pour seasonally inspired beer. From Asheville, expect to see Asheville Brewing Co., Altamont, Catawba, French Broad, Greenman, Highland, Hi-Wire, One World, Pisgah, Twin Leaf, Urban Orchard Cider Co. and Wicked Weed.
From further afield, the following breweries have RSVP’d: Bird Song Brewing (Charlotte, N.C.), Fonta Flora (Morganton, N.C.), Fullsteam (Durham, N.C.), Innovation (Slyva, N.C.), Mystery (Hillsborough, N.C.), Natty Greenes (Greensboro, N.C.), Nantahala (Bryson City, N.C.), NoDa (Charlotte, N.C.), Olde Mecklenburg (Charlotte, N.C.), Sub Noir (Raleigh, N.C.), Trophy (Raleigh, N.C.), Haw River Farmhouse Ales (Saxapahaw, N.C.), and Unknown (Charlotte, N.C.).
Burial will serve some special beers for the event as well, including Slasher Sweet Potato Porter and a new Apple Tripel brewed with Hickory Nut Gap Farm apples.
The event will not be ticketed. The brewery will instead sell commemorative pint glasses and beer tickets at the door. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. Live music will start at 6:30 p.m. featuring the Hermit Kings and the Nude Party.
