Biscuit Head chef Jason Roy and Zambra chef Adam Bannasch are joining forces to host a pop-up venture Saturday, May 16, at the West Asheville Biscuit Head. The one-night-only event, dubbed the Spring BBQ Fling, will feature barbecued pork, pork ribs, chicken and either tempeh or seitan along with a selection of side items, all served buffet-style. Nonalcoholic drinks are included with the meal, and beer will be for sale.
The event will serve as a fundraiser for Evergreen Community Charter School, and food for the meal has been donated by the two participating restaurants and Hickory Nut Gap Farm. Prices are $12 for adults, $8 for children ages 12 and younger, with all proceeds benefitting the school.
The Biscuit Head parking lot is reserved for Isis Restaurant & Music Hall customers during evening hours, so event coordinator Katherine Apt advises guests to park elsewhere and walk to Biscuit Head. Apt also says it would be smart to arrive early. “Once the stuff is gone, it’s gone!” she says.
