The All Go West music festival returns to West Asheville today (Saturday, June 7), with music on three stage from 11 a.m.-Sunday at 2 a.m. Read more about the festival and its lineup here. With that in mind, this week’s playlist is for those who can’t make it to All Go West and want to live vicariously, and those who plan to be there and want to get in the mood. Selections include:
• The airy and driving “Arrived Real” by indie rockers Doc Aquatic (listen to the full album, Tombs, here). Doc Aquatic plays the Isis stage, 8:30-9:15 p.m.
• Hip-hop outfit Free Radio‘s “Friend Neckbones,” featuring Philo, Smidi, C-Mills, Jeremy Indelicato and cuts by DJ Ra Mak. Catch Free Radio on the Mothlight stage, 8:10-8:50 p.m.
• The deeply groovy and soulful “Are You Music?” from the album Easy Magic by The Secret B-Sides. That band performs on the outdoor stage, 5:15-6 p.m.
• Secret Agent 23 Skidoo‘s “Gotta Be You,” a kid-hop track that speaks to the inner child in all of us. 23 Skidoo opens the outdoor stage, 11-11:45 a.m.
• “Horses Running” from the 2013 release, Get Bothered, by local singer-songwriter, guitarist and drummer Emily Easterly. Her set is on the outdoor stage, 2:45-3:30 p.m.
• The shimmery, summery “Cutting the Stars in Half” from Loose Tooth by indie-rockers The Hermit Kings. Listen to the album here. They’ll play the Isis stage, 7:20-8 p.m.
• “Double Animal,” an instrumental track by local electronic-experimental group Hello Hugo. The song comes from the just-released album Motorcycle Milkman, available here. Catch them on the Mothlight stage, 11:30 p.m.-12:15 a.m.
