It’s time to break out the old leather-studded collar and golden tiara. New Mountain Asheville will host Seelie Court Masquerade, a two-night “multi-sensory fantasy event featuring two rooms of music, fashion, theater and dance,” according to a press release, and all attendees are strongly encouraged to dress their faerie best. Masqueraders will enjoy various live electronic music sets, culminating in a nightly theatrical performance inspired by Igor Stravinsky’s The Firebird. Rounding out the entertainment lineup is Wicked Geisha Ritual Theater, tribal fusion belly dancing and a Saturday night runway show by Danielle Miller and Royal Peasantry — all of which is presided over by the faerie queen and her goblin king. New Mountain hosts the masquerade on Aug. 9 and 10, at 9:30 p.m. $10/$15 per night.
