A decade after the release of its indie-rock breakout album, Indian Summer (with the radio hit “Life Less Ordinary”), Carbon Leaf issues Indian Summer Revisited. The Ashland, Va.-based band is now more than 20 years into a career that’s spanned a dozen albums. Indian Summer marked the beginning of the band’s hard-won relationship with a record label. Carbon Leaf worked with Vanguard for three albums before returning to indie status in 2010. “Our output is increasing, and the pressure’s off to front-load [albums] with hits, so [we] can take more risks and come up with different themed projects,” frontman Barry Privett told Xpress last year. “It keeps [us] writing.” Carbon Leaf performs at The Grey Eagle on Friday, Nov. 7, at 8 p.m. $12 advance/$15 day of show. thegreyeagle.com.
