According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Halloween costumes reveal a lot about our personalities. French maids and sexy nurses might nod to sexual repression, fairies and princesses point to lost innocence, and animals tap into primal instincts. Or maybe it’s all just good fun—no Freud required.
Sarah Lambert, an employee at The Costume Shoppe (243 Haywood St., Asheville, 252-8404) notes that this season’s most popular outfits include Marie Antoinette, pirates and wenches, and a resurgence of Moulin Rouge-inspired getups. Here are some Xpress favorites, modeled by Aiyanna Sezack-Blatt.
