Most shops are mired in the no-man’s-land of winter sales—that bleak time between holiday gift gluttony and shiny new spring lines. But don’t despair: A new handbag can breathe life back into a winter-weary wardrobe, and there are plenty of interesting finds to be had.

The Pink Benefit—a runway fashion show—features former America’s Next Top Model contestant Kathy Hoxit. Also, volunteers will receive dramatic haircuts on stage to benefit hair-prosthetic organization Locks of Love (locksoflove.org). The black- (or pink)-tie event kicks off at 7:30 p.m. at Bliss Salon; tickets are $50.
