The best part about going back to school is new school clothes, and the best part about new school clothes is jeans. I, for one, honor the tradition of back to school jeans every year, even though it’s been a decade since I stepped foot inside a class room.
Local boutique Wink Heads and Threads is ready to school shoppers on the ins and outs of old and new jeans: During the month of September, the clothing store will accept gently used denim in exchange toward a new pair from Wink’s stock.
Here’s how it works: Bring in second-hand jeans in good, wearable condition for a discount (20-percent for one or two pairs, 30-percent for three or more) toward a new, full-priced pair. The donated denim goes to a good cause: Moms and teens in WNC’s Big Brothers and Big Sisters program.
This is the second year Wink has teamed up with Big Brothers and Big Sisters for the charitable effort—an event that does good in the community while simultaneously enabling many a shopping addiction.
The swap begins Monday, Sept. 1, so dig through those closets for everything too big, too small, too acid washed or too last year. Wink carries Big Star, J Brand and People’s Liberation.
