Two photography blogs capture Asheville buskers

Fans of Xpress online feature Busk Break by web advocate Steve Shanafelt can find even more about local street performers in two photography blogs.

Through the Lens is the work of Antony Boshier, Brian McCord, Todd Bennett and Jeff Adkins and published photos from Abingdon and Albuquerque to Vicksburg and West Chester. Of Asheville McCord (who was on assignment for Asheville Travel Guide) writes, “If you’re downtown in the vicinity of the giant Zebulon Vance Monument, you’re likely to see a variety street performers entertaining tourists and locals on any given Friday or Saturday night …  I spent some time getting to know the street performers and it was amazing to see how passionate they are about what they do.”

Derek Olson Photography (who’s Shindig on the Green photo appeared on Xpress’ web site) also recently posted pictures of Asheville buskers, including fiddler Aaron Gunn and a trio of young chamber musicians.
