The Mountain Oasis Electronic Music Summit just posted, via Facebook, that three acts have canceled for next weekend’s festival.
“Unfortunately, the rumors are true: Tricky (Adrian Thaws) has cancelled all of his US dates including Mountain Oasis due to visa issues. In addition, Delorean will not be touring due to their recent incident in Mexico, and Rudimental‘s Mercury Award nomination has caused them to cancel their appearances leading into the event. We are working on replacements for all 3 of these artists. Stay tuned!”
Earlier this year, Nine Inch Nails side project How To Destroy Angels also had to pull out of the lineup. Some fans expressed frustration about the cancellations, though Mountain Oasis personnel responded, “These cancellations were not the decision of the festival and we’re working to fill the spots.”

Which is, indeed, a thing. “Callers, often identifying themselves as members of the Zetas or one of Mexico’s other deadly criminal gangs, declare they have abducted someone’s loved one and demand ransom deposited in return to the supposed victim’s continued existence,” says an article in Global Post. “In Delorean’s case, the callers somehow obligated band members to hole up in a downtown Mexico City hotel, convincing them they would be killed if they tried to contact family members or police. Meanwhile, calls were made to their relatives in Spain demanding an initial ransom of 5 million euros (about $6.5 million) that was later reduced to 10,000 euros. Mexican and Spanish police worked together to unravel the scheme and free the band.”
