The Asheville Area Arts Council announces it second Creative Sector Summit, to be held on Thursday, March 29 at the Asheville Community Theater (35 East Walnut St.). (Read about last year’s inaugural summit here.)
According to a press release, the summit is “an opportunity for networking and creative problem solving; for cross pollination, education, creation of sector advocacy, collaboration on initiatives and programs, to maximize funding opportunities, and as an opportunity for non-arts organizations to have a way to work with the sector effectively.”
Two sessions will be held during the day. The morning session, from 10-11:30 a.m., includes presentations by Pam Myers of the Asheville Art Museum, Diane Ruggiero from the City of Asheville’s Cultural Arts Division and Andrew Montrie speaking about Arts 2 People’s Handcrafted Artisan Revitalization Program.
The afternoon session, from 2-5 p.m., features a cultural resources forms and breakout sessions dealing with arts programs and services, cultural resources and artist opportunities. See the full agenda here.
