Athens, Ga-based “psychedelic country” group Futurebirds has, according to press, “performed at Bonnaroo and the Austin City Limits festival, and toured with Drive-By Truckers, Widespread Panic, and Grance Potter & the Nocturnals, among others.” They’re also working on a followup to 2010’s folk-pop album, Hampton’s Lullaby. But until that next record drops, the band is keeping busy with lives shows and an arsenal of haunted, rootsy songs. They’ll be at The Grey Eagle on Wednesday, Dec. 7. Grass Giraffes opens. 8:30 p.m., $8 advance or $10 day of show.

And, for something completely different, German electronic duo Digitalism plays The Orange Peel, also on Wednesday, Dec. 7. They’ll be performing their most recent album, I Love You, Dude, with a fill backing band. “This is the sound of a band welding dancefloor pugilism onto crafted sonic sculpture,” says a press release. 9 p.m., $15 in advance or $17 at the door.
