Awesome band bio of the week: “The Polish Ambassador is a beat machine from the future. Hailing simultaneously from the far reaches of other dimensional Universes and… Oakland, California, this dude drops his own unique blend of electro-funked, glitch-tweaked, wobble-freaked breakbeats that will have you dropping that bottom like it was ‘92 …3092, that is.”
Here’s what else we know about the Polish Ambassador:
• His entire discography is currently available for free download via a Facebook app.
• His spacesuit-wearing/karate-posing/rose-in-crotch-of-jumpsuit photos are a little bit creepy but mostly hilarious.
• It’s kind of tricky to find live performance video of the Polish Ambassador. Here are 52 seconds:
• He headlines Asheville Music Hall this Saturday, Oct. 6.
On stage, the Polish Ambassador builds his sets from elements of drum, bass, synthesizers and vocals — he mixes “funk, glitch, IDM, hip-hop, ‘80s music, jungle and dub into a beat soup that will instigate healthy doses of booty shake and fist pump.”
DVS and Elfkowitz open. 10 p.m. showtime, $10 in advance or $12 day of show. Xpress will give a way a pair of tickets to the show tomorrow via Facebook.
